One of the very few German cities that wasn’t heavily bombed, with lovely Victorian-era architecture. Famous for natural hot springs known since Roman times (very hot, very smelly). Lovely walking sitting with a large pedestrian shopping center and parks on the outskirts.

Also the heart of Germany’s wine country.

  • **Nerobergbahn: Funicular to the top of the highest point in the area, short and historic, great views.
  • ***Lambertus (in the Kurhaus Weisbaden): elegant and classic, very good food.
