***Ulmer Münster, like Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), was begun in the Gothic era and not completed until the late 19th century. It is the tallest church in the world, and the 4th tallest structure built before the 20th century, with a steeple measuring 530 ft and containing 768 steps. The final stairwell to the top (known as the third Gallery) is a tall, spiraling staircase that has barely enough room for one person.

Overall – really impressive, gigantic and elegant. It’s hard to get a good exterior view, as the city surrounds it. Doing the tower is debatable – it’s really tall (tallest church tower in the world) and takes about 30 minutes to climb. The view isn’t good, just a flat German city. But it’s still fun to climb.
