**Stalheim Hotel is set high on a mountainside overlooking the huge Nærøy Valley. It’s large and a bit of a tourist bus magnet, with a National Park architectural style, but the view makes up for it, and we loved the lounge. The food is just okay – better if you skip the buffet. 

We also checked the local surrounding towns and didn’t find anything better, so go with this.

Just behind the hotel, make sure not to miss driving the old road, Stahlheimsklem! Amazing switchbacks.
