**Sognefjellet is the highest mountain pass road (4,705 ft) in Northern Europe – a national tourist road opened in 1938. Serious glaciers! It’s freezing and stark and has amazing views. Excellent road. Note that you can stay here (reserve in advance). The route ends in Lom.

**Lom Stave Church is believed to have been built in 1158, with additions in the 1600s. It’s not my favorite of the stave churches we saw, but if you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop. 

Lom itself looks like a big European-style camping destination, very limited on food options.
