We didn’t love this town. The drive to it is stunning – all fruit trees against the Fjord. It’s kind of grim, overlooks a smelting plant, and has terrible restaurant options. The highlight was hanging out with the local gas & oil workers at the local bar (which was very entertaining).

AirBNB booked for two nights: Kremarvegen 4, Odda, Hordaland 5750, Norway. This was exactly as billed – clean, central, small. Because of the town we decided one night was enough.

We didn’t take the long hike, the Trolltunga vista point, which is the reason most people visit this area. 

However, our hike to ***Buarbreen was incredible! About 2.5 hours, reasonably hard work, delivering you right up to a massive glacier.

Sites of interest north of Odda:

• Tyssedal Hotel: We didn’t stay here, but it looks very promising from the outside.
• Leaving Odda we ate at **Kompaen in Lufthus, situated on a lovely spot on the Fjord. A nice casual deli.
