The Nürburgring is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Most consider it the best track in the world. It’s also set in lovely rolling hills, a rather pretty area to visit.

If visiting, check online for “tourist days” when anyone can drive – often in the evenings, weekdays. Fun!

• ***Pistenklause is our favorite restaurant – the place to eat at the ring. Full of excited boys and their fancy cars! Good food, steaks on stone, and Italian.
• **Restaurant zur Nürburg: The best lunch at the ring. Casual, beers, has a terrace with a bit of a view. Good schnitzel.
• *Devil’s Diner: absolutely horrible food. Trashy faux-1950s diner. Avoid.
