***Hamburg is awesome. It’s huge, modern/old in equal measure, and feels like Vienna with personality. A few hours is an insult to the city (which we did). It’s not exactly dangerous but very edgy in a big city way. Great for bike riding if you don’t mind bouncing on cobblestones. We rode a wide distance and enjoyed it. We went to the old fish market (closed for a private event), around the central park, and to the main downtown area.

  • Hotel: **25hours Hotel HafenCity, Ueberseeallee 5, Hamburg, HH 20457. This was typical 25hours – very hip. It’s a good location. Around the corner the ***25hours Hotel Altes Hafenamt is even cuter.
  • We ate nearby at **Traditions-Restaurant Deichgraft – the least touristy option on a touristy street. Excellent service.
